Supporting Student Success: The Role of Our Pupil Services Department
At Warrensville Heights City School District, we take pride in providing an environment that allows every student to thrive academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. Our Pupil Services Department plays a vital role in this mission by offering a wide range of services designed to comprehensively meet the needs of our students and their families.
Comprehensive Support for Student Success
Our Pupil Services Department takes a holistic approach to supporting students, recognizing that success in the classroom is deeply intertwined with overall well-being. This comprehensive support includes:
Academic Assistance: Our schools provide specialized academic programs and services, such as tutoring and special education support, to ensure that every student has the tools they need to excel in their studies.
Emotional and Social Support: Our team coordinates mental health services, social-emotional learning programs, and behavioral support to help students navigate challenges and build strong relationships with peers and educators.
Physical Health: We prioritize students' physical well-being by coordinating health screenings, promoting physical activity, and providing well-rounded healthy meals at each of our schools.
Family Engagement: Our staff believe that family involvement is crucial to student success. Each school has family engagement specialist that work closely with parents and guardians to provide resources such as family engagement nights and various events that connect families with community services that can support their children's development.
Specialized Programs: We offer targeted support for homeless students through our McKinney-Vento program, and alternative education options to ensure that every student has access to the educational opportunities they need.
Why It Matters
By providing access to these services, we aim to foster an environment where every student feels supported, through our mission and vision and is intrinsically empowered to grow to be contributing members of their community, nation and world.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the services offered by our Pupil Services Department, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
We look forward to working together to ensure the success and well-being of all our students.
